LiveJazzKC is excited to announce a partnership with the Warwick Theatre in hosting semi-monthly jazz jam session in coordination with the Warwick Jazz Series (curated by LiveJazzKC with saxophonist David Valdez) starting Aug 22nd and 29th (then the 1st & 3rd Sunday evenings thereafter beginning in September from 6:30pm to 10pm) at the historic Warwick Theatre (3927 Main St., Kansas City, MO. 64111).

This is open to musicians and listeners of all ages (under 18 must be accompanied by guardian). Admission is free to participating musician and a $5 suggested donation is requested from non participating listeners.

This will be hosted by a variety of local musicians on a rotating basis.

Located in the Historic 18th and Vine District and hosted by a different local musician weekly, this jam is open to ALL ages and skill levels. Always a great and appreciative audience there to support you.

The last Monday of the month is typically reserved for a big band performance (check the schedule).

Mutual Musicians Foundation

Located in the Historic 18th and Vine District the Mutual Musicians Foundation has the longest running jam sessions in Kansas City. A time honored tradition, where many musicians would come to play after their gigs were done and they wanted to socialize. It has evolved into hosting some of this city's greatest talent week after week. Often you will leave as the sun is coming up ready for breakfast.

BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT AND PLAY The monthly Student Jazz Jam Sessions will occur one Saturday each month. The specific dates will be provided via email to those interested in playing. The schedule will also be posted online as well. JAZZ TUNE LIST Thanks to Mr. Joel Gordon for compiling a list of 20 essential jazz compositions that will be provided to all participants to study and learn and play during the monthly Student Jazz Jam Sessions. Mr. Burnett will email the PDF packet to students interested in playing during the sessions.
